Is wireless secure?

Only if you secure it !

Go for a drive and take your laptop with you, park up in any street near some apartment blocks, and search for networks. You will find a large % of networks that are unsecured and allow you to connect to the internet through them, no questions asked.

Surprisingly, a lot of equipment out there will install itself using the default option of "No security", in our experience this is especially true of LinkSys and Bluewin products.
